GAMA-1 leads the Algorithm Scientific Software Integration and System Transition Team  NOAA/NESDIS/STAR transitioning scientific software applications from research to operations across the organization. ASSISTT supports the integration and transition tasks for several NOAA weather, climatic, and geophysical algorithms by ensuring that the product algorithms are brought to operational standards.

Our PLAIT Team provides the integration tasks for more than 20 science data processing and product generation algorithms in the STAR Algorithm Processing Framework as well as more than 40 standalone algorithms and assists dedicated transitions to different operational systems, including NOAA NPOESS Data Exploitation (NDE), NOAA NESDIS Common Cloud Framework (NCCF), and the GOES-R Ground System. 

GAMA-1 provides transition (R2O/O2R) services, defined as lifecycle management, programming, integration, implementation, unit testing, tool development support, and application/algorithm validation. These services are provided in support of the current and next-generation enterprise satellites such as the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite Series series, Suomi National Polar-orbiting Partnership satellite and the Joint Polar Satellite System series, Global Change Observation Mission – Water, Meteorological Operational Satellite Program of Europe, Meteorological Satellite  series, Himawari series, NASA satellites, and foreign satellites that are developed and then transitioned to operations
