Greenbelt, MD – March 2026
GAMA-1 Technologies is proud to celebrate a significant achievement in support of the National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS): the successful migration of the NOAA5006 on-premises SharePoint environment to Microsoft SharePoint Online (SPO).
This enterprise transition modernized all hosted sites, custom applications, and mission-supporting data serving key NESDIS programs and offices, including the Office of Low Earth Orbit Observations (LEO), the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), and Space Weather Observations (SWO). The effort marks a critical step forward in strengthening secure collaboration, enhancing scalability, and aligning with NOAA’s cloud-first strategy.
A Mission-Focused Modernization
The migration was a complex, multi-phase initiative requiring precision planning, cross-organizational coordination, and disciplined execution. From application reconfiguration and data validation to performance optimization and user readiness, the GAMA-1 SharePoint Team delivered a seamless transition—ensuring operational continuity across NESDIS programs.
The result:
- Enhanced cloud-native collaboration capabilities
- Improved scalability and resilience
- Reduced infrastructure overhead
- Estimated government cost savings of approximately $300,000 annually
Following completion, the team is now partnering with the NOAA5006 infrastructure group to gracefully decommission legacy on-premises hardware and software—finalizing the modernization lifecycle responsibly and efficiently.
Client Recognition for Excellence
The success of this effort did not go unnoticed.
NOAA leadership commended the GAMA-1 team for their professionalism, reliability, and results-driven delivery. In particular, clients highlighted the outstanding performance of:
- Jacques Francois – SharePoint Project Lead
- Charly Appollo– Development Team
- Eyosias Nuramo – Development Team
- Tsegaye Shimbir – Development Team
One NESDIS leader, Ronald Underwood, noted that the team “consistently upholds a standard of excellence by delivering high-quality results,” while Kim Chamberlain emphasized that the SharePoint Team “always does excellent work and completes projects either within the allotted time frame or early.”
This recognition reflects not just technical capability, but the trust GAMA-1 continues to build with federal partners through disciplined execution and mission alignment.
Powered by Partnership
This milestone was made possible through strong collaboration with the NESDIS OCIO High Availability Enterprise Services (HAES) leadership team, ensuring governance, cybersecurity alignment, and enterprise integration were addressed throughout the migration lifecycle.
With this success, GAMA-1 looks ahead to continued partnership opportunities supporting NESDIS modernization initiatives, including upcoming cloud and virtual desktop environments.
At GAMA-1, we remain committed to delivering secure, scalable, and cost-effective enterprise solutions that advance NOAA’s environmental intelligence mission. The NESDIS SharePoint Online migration stands as another example of what disciplined cloud modernization—executed with integrity and precision—can achieve.

Greenbelt, MD – January 2026
GAMA-1 Technologies is proud to support the launch of NOAA’s new Wildland Fire Data Portal, a cloud-enabled platform expanding public access to critical satellite-derived wildfire information. This innovative capability enhances situational awareness for emergency managers, researchers, and communities by delivering timely, authoritative fire detection and monitoring data—when it matters most.
Developed in close collaboration with NOAA’s National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS), GAMA-1 Technologies, and industry partner TechTraverse LLC, the Wildland Fire Data Portal is powered by the NESDIS Common Cloud Framework (NCCF)—NOAA’s enterprise cloud platform for secure, scalable, and mission-ready data delivery.
Mission-Ready Cloud Innovation, Powered by NCCF
At the core of this solution is NCCF, which enables NOAA to modernize how satellite data is processed, managed, and shared with the public. Leveraging NCCF’s cloud-native architecture, the Wildland Fire Data Portal delivers:
- Scalable access to large volumes of satellite fire data
- High availability and performance to support surge demand during wildfire events
- Secure, compliant infrastructure aligned with NOAA enterprise standards
- Rapid innovation and deployment, accelerating time from data to decision
GAMA-1’s cloud engineering and data management expertise helped ensure the portal was built to meet NOAA’s operational requirements while remaining flexible for future enhancements—without compromising reliability, security, or performance.
A Trusted Partnership with NESDIS
“GAMA-1 is honored to partner with NESDIS in delivering capabilities that directly support NOAA’s mission and the public good,” said Gus Gamarra, President of GAMA-1 Technologies. “The NESDIS Common Cloud Framework is a critical enabler for modern, resilient data services. By powering applications like this Wildland Fire Data Portal with NCCF, NOAA is accelerating innovation while ensuring its satellite data is accessible, secure, and operationally dependable at scale.”
Expanding Public Access to Critical Wildfire Intelligence
As wildfires continue to pose increasing risks to lives, infrastructure, and ecosystems, NOAA’s Wildland Fires Data Portal represents a significant step forward in open data access and environmental intelligence. By making satellite-based fire information more readily available, NOAA strengthens the nation’s ability to prepare for, respond to, and recover from wildfire events.
GAMA-1 is proud to support this effort and remains committed to helping NOAA modernize its cloud and data ecosystems—delivering mission-ready solutions powered by NCCF.
