Greenbelt, MD – May 2026
GAMA-1 Technologies is proud to recognize Dennis Kolyshev for his exceptional performance, responsiveness, and technical expertise in support of the NESDIS STAR contract, where GAMA-1 serves as a subcontractor to our prime contractor.
Dennis was recently commended for his immediate impact and outstanding support during two critical technical events affecting STAR operations. His ability to respond quickly, diagnose complex issues, and work collaboratively across teams reflects the mission-focused excellence GAMA-1 employees bring to federal programs every day.
In one instance, Dennis provided rapid support when an unexpected issue affected the Airflow RabbitMQ server. Within minutes of the ticket being submitted, Dennis responded, identified the issue, and resolved it quickly. His fast action helped minimize downtime and reduce the risk of disruption to ongoing operations.
Dennis was also recognized for his role in responding to a critical infrastructure event impacting STAR VMware hosts. When a subset of hosts lost connectivity and multiple virtual machines were affected, Dennis helped rapidly diagnose the issue and worked with NCEP partners to restore limited network connectivity and bring affected systems back online as quickly as possible.
What stood out most was not only Dennis’s technical capability, but also his ownership and commitment. He remained actively engaged beyond normal working hours, continuing support efforts until the environment was stabilized and operational impacts were minimized. His dedication demonstrated the professionalism, accountability, and customer-first mindset that are essential when supporting mission-critical federal systems.
His Program Manager highlighted Dennis’s consistent professionalism, responsiveness, and technical proficiency, noting that his ability to perform under pressure reflects a strong commitment to operational excellence and team success. Dennis is also contributing to continued coordination with NCEP to support the development of a more resilient and redundant configuration designed to help prevent similar incidents in the future.
GAMA-1 Program Manager Theresa Manassa expressed appreciation for his work as a strong example of how GAMA-1 professionals support our partners, strengthen customer confidence, and help sustain the technology environments that federal missions depend on.
Congratulations to Dennis Kolyshev on this well-deserved recognition. His responsiveness, technical excellence, and commitment to mission success continue to make a meaningful impact for GAMA-1, NESDIS STAR, and the broader NOAA community.
