Join GAMA-1 in welcoming aboard our new Vice President of Operations, Dan Beall. “I have known Dan for almost 20 years throughout his success across the IT, satellite, ground systems, and the government contracting world. He will be a valuable asset for GAMA-1, providing the Directors, Program Managers, Task Leads, and employees with the expertise and guidance on government contract performance operations, customer relationship management, and future acquisitions”, remarked Gus Gamarra. “He has big shoes to fill, as Alesa Shelton vacates the spot for her new role as Chief Operating Officer, but I have no doubt he will be a success and add his unique flavor and talents to the role.”
Dan is a results-driven Senior Executive with over 30 years of success leveraging extensive experience in managing multiple programs for top performance in highly competitive business markets. His broad areas of expertise include program management, negotiations, business development, budgets, strategic planning, system integration, earned value management, and customer relationship management.
Dan has held leadership positions at Peraton, Solers, Integral Systems, Lockheed Martin, Loral, and Ford Aerospace. In his role as Vice President of Peraton/Solers, he captured and managed more than $200 million in awards from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). He was responsible for acting as the program manager on the design and development of the $100M+ modernization of NOAA’s data processing center and managing 80 engineers. In his past, he secured new business on smaller contracts in the $5-10 million range as well as the $50M+ award for the operations, maintenance, and sustainment of the NOAA NESDIS Comprehensive Large-Array Stewardship System (CLASS). He worked in a similar role for 12 years with Integral Systems, managing numerous NOAA and DoD programs, and previously spent 12 years as a Software Engineer, Architect, and Program Manager for Lockheed Martin, responsible for ongoing NOAA and NASA programs.
Dan holds a BS in Computer Science from the University of Maryland and an MS in Computer Systems Management from the University of Maryland. He is a Certified PM Professional, is a member of the American Meteorological Society, and belongs to the Sigma Chi Fraternity.
