Mission Ready for Transformation: GAMA-1’s Role in NOAA’s Cloud Evolution

Greenbelt, MD – June 2025

At GAMA-1 Technologies, we’re proud to collaborate with NOAA and AWS Professional Services to enhance the NESDIS Common Cloud Framework (NCCF). Launched in 2020, the NCCF provides NOAA with a secure, scalable, and cost-efficient cloud-based infrastructure. This partnership empowers NOAA to ingest, manage, process, and disseminate critical environmental data more efficiently.

Our contributions include migrating complex data processes to AWS cloud services, rearchitecting metadata extraction and product generation processes using high-performance computing clusters and transitioning critical databases to AWS Aurora PostgreSQL. These efforts ensure that NOAA’s data—from geostationary and low Earth orbit satellites to non-satellite sources—is processed and shared in near real-time with stakeholders like the National Weather Service, Department of Defense, and research institutions.

The NCCF’s architecture is designed for scalability, redundancy, and fault tolerance, utilizing FedRAMP services to meet stringent security requirements. By leveraging AWS services such as Amazon S3, AWS Lambda, and Amazon Neptune, we’ve enhanced NOAA’s ability to deliver timely and accurate environmental intelligence.

As a AWS Advanced Tier Services Partner with a Migration and Modernization Competency and ISO 9001, ISO 20000-1, and ISO 27001 certifications, GAMA-1 is committed to delivering innovative and cost-effective technical solutions. Our expertise in cloud services, AI and data analytics, and cybersecurity positions us as a trusted partner in federal digital transformation initiatives.
