Implementation of Infrastructure Modernization Projects
GAMA-1 successfully transformed our Federal client’s complex
network architecture environment to their desired “one Unified Office”
infrastructure and service model.
GAMA-1 accepted the challenge and designed,
implemented and managed major infrastructure modernization projects and
sub-projects to include:
- The installation, integration and operations of a
consolidated data center environment that leverages VMware virtual server technology, NetApp storage, HP SAN Switches and HP Blade Server and networking technologies. The design approach
allowed for server orchestration, VM Mobility, Storage virtualization, virtualized
network services, policy-based security and application optimization.
- Upgrading our clients antiquated and disparate analog PBX
telephony system to a unified IP-based telephony (Voice over IP) system. This was accomplished by
designing and implementing a unified Cisco VoIP infrastructure, IP call
processing equipment (Cisco Call Manager, Cisco Unity, and Cisco voice end-point (IP
phones).
- Deployment of a thin-net Private Cloud solution using the
PaaS Private Cloud delivery model. GAMA-1 is preparing for the deployment of the SaaS future
Cloud Computing environment. Our client was one of the first program offices within
the agency to successfully use both a Private Cloud Solution and VoIP. This
program remains the model today for future implementations within the agency.
- The one critical application to one Unified environment was
the implementation of the client’s Enterprise Active Directory service and network file system. The
client’s Active Directory was built upon a single forest with multiple domain trees
with multiple sites and it was designed to be scalable, secure, manageable (by
each program office domain), and fault tolerant.
