GAMA-1 Technologies, LLC Awarded NOAA NWS Private Cloud Integrated Dissemination
Program Infrastructure Services (IDPIS)

Greenbelt, MD – June 2019

Supporting NOAA’s National Weather (NWS) National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) Central Operation (NCO) IDP Private Cloud Infrastructure

GAMA-1 Technologies, LLC has been awarded the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) National Weather Service (NWS) Private Cloud Integrated Dissemination Program Infrastructure Services (IDPIS) contract. GAMA-1 provides support to the NWS Central Operations (NCO) who enables the National
Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) to deliver national and global weather, water, climate and space weather guidance, forecasts, warnings, and analyses to a broad range of users and partners. These products and services respond to users' need to protect life and property, enhance the nation's economy, and support
the nation's growing demand for environmental information. To support this work and mission, GAMA-1 provides specialized system administrators to optimize, enhance, maintain, and support the virtualized private cloud infrastructure, IDP. The operational mission and nature of the work require our system administrators to
be on call 24 x 7 and able to respond in cases of emergencies and if there is a requirement to activate continuity of the workforce (COOP) procedures. As well as assist in the design and implementation of any future state virtualized environment. IDP has aggregated and consolidated dissemination applications on a
common standard dissemination infrastructure in College Park, MD, and Boulder, CO. This architecture ensures that the re-architected structures contain 100% geographical diverse backup and are ready for increases in satellite, model and radar data.

About National Weather Service (NWS)
The National Weather Service (NWS) provides weather, hydrologic, and climate forecasts and warnings for the United States, its territories, adjacent waters and ocean
areas, for the protection of life and property and the enhancement of the national economy. NWS data and products form the national information database and infrastructure used by other government agencies, the private sector, the public, and the global community. In support of this mission, NWS National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) Central Operations (NCO) operates and maintains the IDP private cloud infrastructure. NCEP is “Where America’s Climate and Weather Services Begin.” Virtually, all the meteorological data collected over the globe arrive at NCEP, where environmental scientists analyze this information and generate a wide variety of environmental guidance information. NOAA is an agency that enriches life through science. Our reach goes from the surface of the sun to the depths of the ocean floor as we work to keep citizens informed of the changing environment around them.
